Our Leader
Rev Tim founded the Center for Spiritual Living in 2009 when he moved here from Tacoma WA where he served as a staff minister. His journey includes graduating Stanford Medical School, being a medical researcher and professor, immersion in the 12 Steps and human potential movement and finding Science of Mind in 1995. He loves groups for support and mirroring what each participant needs to realize. He is enthusiastic about Toastmasters, Duolingo, hiking, biking and tennis.
Our Reverends
In the Centers for Spiritual Living, our Ministers hold the designation of Reverend by having successfully completed Certificated Courses, required Professional Practitioner Training as well as holding a valid Practitioner license.
“At CSL Chapala we come from all walks of life, faith and spiritual traditions. What binds us together as a community is our commitment to inspiring and supporting each other in connecting to what is larger than ourselves-and working to be a force for good in our world.”
Rev. Timothy

Rev. Maureen Jones
Maureen became associated with the Center for Spiritual Living Chapala in 2010 when she retired to Ajijic, Jalisco in Mexico.
Before retirement she led a spiritual center in Dallas, Texas. Spiritual Mind Treatment, meditation and sacred channeling in the Christ consciousness were the three main practices at the Center.
Jones invites you to experience the great qualities of the divine within by learning more about mystical powers that are within each individual.
Through this website you may request prayer support, schedule a spiritual counseling session and/or attend classes to learn about New Thought. You may reach Maureen Jones at maureennkarlos0601@live.com.
Rev. Monica Sandoval
Monica Sandoval is originally from Chihuahua in Mexico, but lived for 30 years in the United States.
The U.S. is where she learned about Science of Mind in 1985, became involved with the Centers for Spiritual Living, and where she eventually trained as a Minister.
She became ordained in 2016. When she retired 10 years ago, she decided to come back to her home country and, looking for a gentler climate, found out about the Ajijic Center for Spiritual Living, under the leadership of Rev. Tim Schubert.
She now divides her time between Morelia and Chapala in Roca Azul.

Peggy Shinn, RScP
Peggy is all about facilitating personal transformation— hers and other’s. She discovered Religious Science nearly 30 years ago after discovering in 12-Step work that she was a spiritual being and not an atheist.
A Practitioner since 2002, her service to the CSL Spanish Speaking Ministries landed her in Ajijic at the first public conference at CSL Chapala.
She teaches bi-lingual classes, shares in speaking at Sunday and special occasion services, and offers individual private Practitioner sessions.
Recent testimonials: “I felt very supported and inspired by your listening, questions, feedback, suggestions and Treatment.” “The support, or even just (your) “beingness,” can positively affect how I am being and showing up in the world .” You may reach Peggy Shinn at peggyshinn@gmail.com or at 575-650-7344.
